Community Services
Anger Management Course
An education based course, facilitated by EJHS and offered at the Attendance Centre, is provided to Clients referred from the Provincial Justice System. Course includes group discussion on issues such as defining anger, communicating anger effectively in relationships and learning to manage anger. Clients are referred by the Courts and Community Corrections.
Avenues to Employment
An employment service open to adults on Federal Conditional Release. Participants benefit by learning computer and internet skills; develop employment documents such as resumes and research prospective employment opportunities. (click here for more information)
Community Youth Worker Program
Staff provide counselling and support services to help young people make a successful transition from custody to the community. (click here for more information)
Family Violence Prevention Centre
The Centre works to meet the needs of a diverse community. It provides crisis counselling, emotional support, advocacy, referrals, and information about options open to people affected by family violence. (click here for more information)
Intake & Employment Services
Services are provided to offenders, ex-offenders, persons at risk, families of offenders, and persons affected by crime. Staff knowledgeable in the areas of crisis counselling and community resources provide both direct services and referrals. (click here for more information)
Victims' Assistance Program
Assistance is provided to victims of domestic violence going through Domestic Violence Court or Queen's Bench Criminal courts. Staff and trained volunteers provide information on the criminal court process including court updates/outcomes, bail hearing outcomes and release conditions, ongoing emotional support, assistance in safety planning, liaising with the crown prosecutors office, information on rights and resources for victims of crime, and community referrals.
