Residential Services

The primary focus of a halfway house is to provide support, supervision and structure to assist the offender to return to a responsible community life. Edmonton John Howard Society operates three local halfway houses and a Satellite House for males requiring ongoing supervision and assistance.

Independence Apartments

Established in 1982 as a 21 bed community based Residential Facility for adult males. On July 1, 2000 Indpendence Apartments relocated and re-opened with 35 beds, available to males on release in the community under the authority of the National Parole Board. (click here for more information)

101 Street Apartments

A 33 bed community based residential special needs treatment facility established in 1985. Residency is available to adult males on release in the community under the authority of the National Parole Board and Alberta Solicitor General. 101st Street Apartments serves individuals with various psychiatric disorders, physical disabilities and brain injuries. 104 Street Satellite House

A 6 bed adult group home for men who experience a mental illness. They may or may not be involved in the criminal justice system. The Satellite House offers a home like environment designed to provide residents with the skills required to live independently in the community. (click here for more information)

The Bridges Treatment Program at Howard House

A treatment home providing residence for young males with status under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. We are a treatment group home that provides mental health and/or addictions services; as well as school, recreation and livings skills. We belive in assisting young persons with reaching their potential through the use of social, emotional, mental health and physical resources. (click here for more information)
