To provide youth the opportunity to gain the skills, experience and confidence to live and work independently in the community
We Provide…

Transition support workers who guide residents to learn:
Required skills – cleaning, cooking and shopping.
Coping skills – conflict management and communication skills.
Life Skills – how to wake up on time, to plan a bus route to get to work
on time, the importance of a good night’s sleep, etc.
Financial Skills – budgeting, paying bills, purchasing food on a budget
in accordance with Canada’s Food Guide.

Encouragement to help residents build a positive community support group including family, friends and service providers.

Cost of living contributions to help each resident save money that will assist them in their transition to independent living once they have completed the program at The LOFT.
- Assistance in transition to the community, including:
Finding suitable housing
Connecting utilities
Meeting basic needs: food, clothing, transportation, etc.

All applicants must apply on a voluntary basis

All applicants must be male, between the ages of 16-24
-
Must have a Social Insurance Number

Must be homeless or at risk of becoming homeless

Must be willing and able to work and/or attend school
-
Must be willing to a complete a physical within the first month of residency

Must be willing to share confidential information with house staff
-
Must be willing and able to follow house rules and expectations

Must not have a history of serious violent offences

Must not have an upcoming court date or an outstanding warrant
-
Must be committed to sobriety
Applications are available at our main office #101, 10010 105th Street (Ph: 780.428.7590). All applications will be reviewed for eligibility. The applicant or referring party will be notified within a week with the status. Applicants are encouraged to connect with the REE*START Program while awaiting admission into The LOFT.
