101st Street Apartments Shift Worker

101st Street Apartments a community based residential facility for the Edmonton John Howard Society, is hiring a part time shift worker. We are looking for an individual able to work a variety of shifts (typically on weekends). This individual must be committed to being an integral part of the 101st Street team.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and indirect supervision of approximately 33 federally and provincially convicted offenders
  • Perform security duties as required
  • Attend staff meetings, supervision meetings and workshops as required
  • Participate in leisure activities, program development and evaluation as required
  • Assume related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:
  • Some relevant post secondary education
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Issues
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of clients
  • Must be a TEAM player
  • Valid First Aid and CPR

The successful candidate must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Must also submit to a criminal record check. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
