Part Time Youth Worker
The Bridges Treatment Program at Howard House

 

Position details include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Interact with and mentor youth, ages 15 to 18 years
  • Assist/supervise youth with routines
  • Adhere to group home policies and procedures
  • Consistent logging/report writing and other related written duties
  • Liaising with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, parents / guardians and various community agencies as necessary
  • Attend bi-weekly staff meetings
  • Safety and security of youth, building and property

Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Must possess or be currently working toward Degree or Diploma in child and Youth Care, Corrections or equivalent
  • Must possess excellent relationship building skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to effectively deal with crisis situtions
  • Professional team member
  • Willingness to learn about specific aspects of our treatment program
  • Valid First Aid/CPR and Drivers License
  • Current Criminal Record and Child Welfare checks
  • Strong computer skills

The position is mainly weekends and holidays and includes rotating 8 hour shirfts (7-3, 3-11, 11-7)
