Part Time Youth Worker
The Bridges Treatment Program at Howard House
Position details include, but are not limited to the following:
- Interact with and mentor youth, ages 15 to 18 years
- Assist/supervise youth with routines
- Adhere to group home policies and procedures
- Consistent logging/report writing and other related written duties
- Liaising with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, parents / guardians and various community agencies as necessary
- Attend bi-weekly staff meetings
- Safety and security of youth, building and property
Qualifications
The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:
- Must possess or be currently working toward Degree or Diploma in child and Youth Care, Corrections or equivalent
- Must possess excellent relationship building skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to effectively deal with crisis situtions
- Professional team member
- Willingness to learn about specific aspects of our treatment program
- Valid First Aid/CPR and Drivers License
- Current Criminal Record and Child Welfare checks
- Strong computer skills
The position is mainly weekends and holidays and includes rotating 8 hour shirfts (7-3, 3-11, 11-7)
